What does balance in life mean to you?
It's crucial. At Google, we've learned that as a leader, you need to put on your own oxygen mask first, otherwise, you won't have the energy to be there for others.
I do a lot of training. Currently, I'm doing online strength training where my awesome colleague - who is a former European and World karate champion - guides us through an intense program. And then I run 5K a couple of times a week, play tennis, do yoga, and winter swim. I've learned from experience that you need to have me-time to avoid burning out. Recovery is crucial.
What does balance in the world mean to you?
2018 was crucial for me - green eighteen - where I became pescatarian and was appointed chairman of the government's green environmental technology program.
It fills a lot of my days, as Google is the largest investor in sustainable energy and here at home is the largest investor in solar parks. In my boards, the green transition is a central theme.
